Deep Dive with Amalie Beauty Owner Kristen Anderson

We sat down with Kristen Anderson, owner of Amalie Beauty, to get a better understanding of their story and products.

How did Amalie develop as a company?

“Amalie was founded by a female chemistry student at MIT who was seeking an organic beauty solution for damaged eyelashes. She worked with the chemistry and marketing departments to create Wink Lash & Brow Oil and several 100% organic beauty oils.”

“The business has been growing consistently since its inception. I purchased the business after I found Amalie as a consumer when I purchased Wink to help with my thinning eyebrows. Like many of you, I have very sensitive skin and wanted to find a product that was both natural and effective. Wink not only stimulated new eyebrow growth but also helped my eyelashes grow! My background in sales, marketing, and operations made Amalie perfect as it was poised to scale in size”

How does your brand contribute to sustainability and community?

“Nearly all of our ingredients are 100% organic and all are sourced in the US. We seek premium ingredients from minority and local suppliers. We believe in all of our ingredients being completely transparent so all of our marketing and packaging reflects that.”

“Along with all of our organic product ingredients being sourced locally, all of our packaging is 100% recyclable and all of our products are cruelty-free. We also believe in supporting women with cancer. We’ve created a program called Pink Wink, which we feature each October. Wink is the perfect item as it is safe and effective at helping cancer patients stimulate regrowth of lashes and brows. For each purchase of our Wink product, we donate one to a woman with cancer. We are proud to have donated over 10,000 units in the past 5 years.”

What can customers expect next from Amalie?

“We listen to our customers and we’re always studying the market so that we can be constantly developing new organic products that help resolve beauty needs. After a great deal of testing, we recently launched an Under Eye Dark Circle & Wrinkle Serum that is doing very well. We are also working on a product for deep, fine line treatment.”
